All In The Fit: Meet Jessie

I met Jessie at the shop a few weeks ago through one of my dear friends who works at Columbia Sportswear. I have been looking for an alterations person who can pick up and drop off at the shop for years! She is eager to partner with CC to help make clothing fit better. She has an incredible work history and talent; read more about her below. I am so excited to have her services to offer my ladies. I did a few new arrival posts for fun with her at the bottom.

Where are you from:

Oregon city, OR. I learned to sew when I was 11 or 12 from my mom. She nurtured my desire to find my own identity and showed me how to make my original designs come to life. After a high school career of making original prom dresses for my friends I went to the Art Institute of Portland.

Post-College Life:

I worked as a sales representative for 3 designers from Italy, Germany and Los Angeles. From that I travelled and worked along side the designer in Italy before I moved to San Francisco where I worked with brides to find their perfect dress in the perfect fit for their perfect day. The travel bug hit me again and I drove south to Los Angeles to work as an assistant to a couturier where I harnessed my passion for proper construction, pattern making and fit. I transitioned into a technical designer and fit engineer for the action sports industry and fashion forward sportswear.

Tell me about the alterations process with CC:

You're a lucky lady when you can pull something off the rack and have it fit perfectly. For the rest of us we need a little help. When the customer finds a garment they love but needs a little tuck and lift, the sales associate who is helping you at Consign Couture will make the adjustments and give me a call to do the alteration. If it looks a bit complicated then I will lovingly come and do a more extensive fitting with the customer.
After you leave the items at Consign Couture, allow a week for item pick up. If there is a rush, no problem, but depending on the work needed there may be an additional rush fee.
